Yaqub, peace be upon him, is the son of Isaac and the father of Joseph, and the Quran names him in 16 verses. The Quran also uses the name Israel, which commentators identify as Jacob, and the Children of Israel are his descendants. The Quran is the final revelation, and it is the measure by which earlier books are read.
